Josh and Danny delivered a session at EUJS’s Summer U programme, titled “From Moshe to Zelensky: What Makes a Jewish Leader?”
Together with students from across Europe, we explored what it means to lead Jewishly, drawing on role models from every corner of the Jewish world, from biblical figures to contemporary changemakers. Participants moved around the room, discovered diverse leader profiles, debated which traits felt “most Jewish,” and even designed their own frameworks for mapping Jewish leadership.
The discussion was lively, thoughtful, and often surprising. We heard perspectives that challenged assumptions and opened up new ways of thinking about what leadership means in our communities today.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a rich conversation. We aimed to inspire a room full of potential leaders, but left feeling inspired ourselves! We’re looking forward to connecting with more union leaders over the course of the week.
