Yana Naftalieva
Yana Naftalieva is the President of the World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS), the democratic organisation representing over 800’000 students across the globe. Yana is committed to empowering the next generation of Jewish leaders and fostering Jewish student activism. She is advocating for Jewish students and ensuring that the voices of the next generation of Jewish leaders are heard at the major institutions throughout the world.
Prior to her current position, Yana founded and led a Jewish student club in HSE University in Moscow which soon after won the award of “the most trending organisation on campus”. In 2021 she was elected as Vice President of the European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS), during her term she was focusing on combating antisemitism across Europe and supporting European student unions. In the same year while being active in the world of Jewish advocacy, Yana moved to Israel and earned a master degree in diplomacy at Reichman University.

Shelly Wolkowicz
CEO of WUJS
Shelly Wolkowicz is the CEO of the World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS). With an international MBA degree with honors from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem the University of Beijing, and SciencesPo, Paris, she has developed expertise in strategy, innovation, and finance (VCs). Throughout her academic journey, Shelly excelled in esteemed internships, including positions at the Israeli Ministry of Transportation's spokesperson division, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' strategic planning division, the strategic counseling project Nova, and a highly respected public diplomacy workshop.
Later, she gained valuable professional experience as a senior advisor for the Israeli permanent delegation at the OECD, where she represented Israel in the fields of science, technology, and innovation. Her focus areas included Cyber, AI, and blockchain, and she continued this innovative work during the pandemic. As the CEO of WUJS, Shelly guides the organization with a vision to empower and unite Jewish students worldwide, fostering leadership and making a global impact.
