WUJS in Mexico: FeMeJJ Congress and in Person Board Meeting

From 5 to 10 March 2026, WUJS held its first in-person Board Meeting of the new mandate in Mexico City, alongside its participation in the Congress of the Mexican Federation of Jewish Youth (FeMeJJ), held under the theme Hineni. With the generous support of FeMeJJ and the Metta Saade Foundation, the week brought together Board members from across the world for a meaningful combination of internal strategic work, regional engagement, and direct exchange with a vibrant Jewish youth community.

The Board Meeting focused on setting priorities for the year ahead, strengthening governance, and building a clear path toward long-term sustainability. Board members worked together on key areas including organizational strategy, regional development, membership engagement, communications, fundraising, and the role of WUJS in responding to the challenges currently facing Jewish students worldwide. The meeting also created space for team-building, shared reflection, and alignment around the new mandate’s vision and responsibilities.

At the same time, participation in the FeMeJJ Congress created valuable opportunities to connect with young Jewish leaders from across Mexico and Latin America. The Congress offered an inspiring setting for dialogue, learning, and community-building, bringing together students and young activists committed to Jewish identity, leadership, and collective responsibility. As part of the Congress, WUJS organized a dedicated session on its work and global impact, attended by over 70 participants. The session provided a space to present WUJS’ role as the global representative body of Jewish students, share ongoing initiatives, and discuss the importance of international student solidarity. It also allowed participants to engage directly with WUJS leadership, ask questions, and explore ways to become more involved at a global level..

This visit to Mexico marked an important step in deepening WUJS’ relationship with Jewish student communities in Latin America, strengthening its global network, and ensuring that young Jewish voices from the region continue to play an active role in shaping the future of international Jewish student leadership.
