We are pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the third annual Marcos Metta Cohen Award for Campus Heroes. This award honours one non-Jewish student activist who has demonstrated extraordinary bravery and commitment to the Jewish people in standing up to antisemitism and the BDS movement. The selected award recipient will be flown to Israel for WUJS Congress where they will be presented with the award and share their stories and expertise. A committee of WUJS leaders together with the Metta Family will select the winner.

The award recipient must be available to attend WUJS Congress from 30 December 2018 - 3 January 2019
Preference will be given to activists who have worked closely with WUJS member organizations
Nominations close on the 15th November 2018 The award recipient will be informed no later than the 30th November 2018

Past Winners Two years ago, the inaugural award was presented to Robbie Young. Robbie served as a Vice-President of the National Union of Students (NUS) of the UK, where he was responsible for Society and Citizenship. NUS is the national organisation that represents more than 7 million students across the UK and during his time as a leader within the movement, Robbiie has been a key ally to Jewish students in the UK. He has spoken out consistently against antisemitism both on campus and within NUS. In June 2017, Robbie was awarded the AJC Campus Courage Award.
