Three years after the last gathering in Jerusalem, WUJS Congress 52 returned to Israel from January 4 to 8, 2026, bringing together around 100 Jewish student leaders from across the world. The Congress took place in Kibbutz Shefayim, creating a setting that allowed for both focused work and meaningful community building. The Congress remains one of the key moments in the WUJS calendar. It is a space to reconnect, exchange ideas, and strengthen leadership across the global network.
This year’s program focused on practical leadership sessions and union based workshops, aimed at supporting and empowering student organisations in concrete ways. A particularly meaningful aspect of this Congress was the presence of both the outgoing and incoming WUJS leadership. This created a strong sense of continuity while also marking the beginning of a new chapter for the organisation.
Key moments included the Gala, where outstanding student unions were recognised, and the General Assembly, during which the new WUJS Board was officially elected. Overall, Congress 52 helped set the direction for what comes next, with a stronger, more connected, and more active WUJS.
Special thanks to our partners who supported the realization of the Congress: the World Jewish Congress, the American Jewish Committee, JReady, the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, the Jewish Agency for Israel, and the Rabbi Sacks Foundation.
