This past Tuesday was International Women's Day, the day when we celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women and when we remind ourselves that there is still much work to be done to truly achieve gender parity. To celebrate we asked some wonderful women Jewish students from around the world to develop an online campaign for us and so, over the last 5 days we highlighted an A-Z of incredible Jewish women from throughout history right up till today. Off the back of the success of this campaign we have decided to create a WUJS Women's Committee that will develop new projects and initiatives concerning women's issues within our union.
So if you're passionate about feminist issues and women's empowerment within the Jewish community, we want YOU! We will only be taking 5-10 people for the committee including 2 co-chairs but even if you are not selected we still hope you will get involved in the projects they develop! As with all WUJS projects priority will be given to current university students (undergraduate and postgraduate both welcome) but recent graduates under the age of 30 are also encouraged to apply!
