Communiqué of the Jewish Students Federation of Chile (FEJ):
“Last week in Cochabamba, the members of the first Directive-Board of the new Jewish Students Federation of Bolivia were announced. Lead by President Eduardo Galetovic and Vice President Michelle Meyer, this new initiative seeks to reposition the role of the Jewish Community within Bolivian society, and especially within its youth.
The new Federation counts with the full support the Israelite Association of Cochabamba and the personal guidance and counsel of Jessica Pauker, one of its four Board members. Their action plan contemplates an expansion of their volunteer base to the Jewish Youth of Santa Cruz and La Paz, as well as coordinating activities at a national level.
The World Zionist Organization (WZO) invited WUJS staff to a Hebrew-language training session on Har Herzl last week. The WZO has been working on a new taste-of-Hebrew program called ‘Tachles’ that has seen great success in Synagogues and WZO centers across North America and is now looking to expand to Campuses and Summer Camps.
Last week over 70 members of the Australasian Union of Jewish Students (AUJS) met in Sydney for Basic Training, the annual four-day territory training conference. The conference included high-level guest speakers, leadership training, skills and team building, as well as opportunities for students to informally meet and plan social events for the year ahead. AUJS is Executive Member of WUJS, working closely with the WUJS team all year long.
