Avigayil Benstein was elected to serve as President of WUJS at the 44th Annual WUJS Congress. She is in the process of completing her Bachelor's degree in Middle Eastern Studies and International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Avigayil was born in Israel to olim from the United States and the United Kingdom, and grew up in Beit Shemesh. She served in the IDF Spokesperson's Office as a media liaison to European media outlets, and interned at the Israeli embassy in London and in the mayor of Jerusalem's public affairs division.
Avigayil loves to sing, read, and spend time with her friends.
Samantha Miretzky is the WUJS Campaigns Director. Prior to this role she sat on the WUJS Board and served as the Chair before joining the WUJS professional staff as the Congress and Trips Coordinator.
She grew up in Toronto, Canada and made aliyah in November 2011, immediately following her gap year spent studying at seminary in Israel. She graduated from Bar-Ilan University in 2015 and during her time studying there she was a founding board member of the The GSC - Givat Shmuel Community - Israel’s largest and fastest-growing community of English-speaking students, young professionals, soldiers, newly-married couples, and other ‘lone’ olim.
In her day-to-day life, Samantha is wife to her husband Ira and Imma to their daughter Avital and puppy Sam. Samantha has been on team for both WUJS Congress 2013 & January 2017.
