Ariela Carno, Chairperson of the South African Union of Jewish Students (SAUJS) visited the HQ of the French Union of Jewish Students (UEJF) in Paris and gave a presentation about South Africa’s Apartheid history and the analogy of Israel being an Apartheid state.
WUJS always encourages exchange and sharing of best practices between student unions and we are hoping that more unions will have the chance to learn from each other in the future.
Ariela writes about her experiences in Paris meeting UEJF activits:
In this age of individualism we often underestimate the importance of collaboration and as a result we often end up re-inventing the wheel. Over the past four years I have had the privilege of becoming part of the international student community and I have come to the realisation that we have much to gain from sharing the information regarding our different cultural backgrounds.
